FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What format does my artwork need to be in?

Upload as a PNG at 300dpi for the best quality. Ensure a transparent background, especially for gang sheets, and avoid empty spaces around your artwork.

What size should my artwork be?

Any size up to 57cm wide. Pocket prints are usually 10x10cm, letterbox prints 28x10cm, and large prints 28x28cm, but you can scale to fit your garment.

Can I print photos?

Yes, high-resolution (300dpi) photos look fantastic!

What if I don’t have high-resolution artwork?

Low-res artwork may look pixelated and cause unwanted white edges. We recommend high-res (300dpi) to avoid quality issues.

Will I see white peeking out from my transfers?

No, with high-quality, high-res artwork, there will be no white peeking out.

Can I increase the resolution of low-res artwork?

Simply increasing the resolution in software won't improve quality. Start with a high-res image to avoid issues.

Can you resize my artwork?

Yes, for a small fee. Alternatively, you can resize it in free software like Photopea.

Can I use semi-transparent effects in my design?

No, DTF printing doesn’t support semi-transparency. Consider halftoning for fade effects.

How many prints will I get?

This depends on your artwork size. 1M Gang Sheet might fit: 6 x 28x33cm Designs (£2.5 each) or 4 x 28x33cm and 24 x 8x8cm Designs (£0.53 each) or 18 x 28x10cm Designs (£0.83 each). Fit Any Design, Any Size – Mix & Match!

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Our MOQ is 1 Meter for DTF transfers.

Can I print A4 or A3 sheets?

We print on film rolls, not sheets, with a max width of 57cm. However we can do DTF By Size Prints for you.

Will my colours print correctly?

Our DTF printers use CMYK, and we calibrate with an I1 Publisher Pro 3 to ensure colours match your RGB designs as closely as possible.

Can I get a colour swatch?

Yes, for a small fee. The swatch includes a range of colours for reference, plus an electronic version for digital design.

Can you colour match a specific colour?

Yes, we can for a small fee. Send us a physical sample, like a garment or swatch, for reference.

Frequently asked question

Use this to answer some common questions you hear from your customers. You could discuss product details, size fit, shipping policies, or anything you think would help merchants make an informed decision about your products. This section will appear across all products.

What is a gang sheet or gang file?

It’s a set canvas size where all artwork is placed, like 57cm wide x 100cm.

What is your turnaround time?

24 hours from payment and artwork approval.

What happens after I place my order?

Your order is added to our artwork approval queue. Orders are reviewed in sequence; we’ll reach out if there’s an issue. Once approved, it goes to the print queue.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Call us immediately if you need to put your order on hold. If it’s already in the print queue, changes and cancellations may not be possible.

How do I apply DTF Heat Transfers?

Each material requires different settings. For example, cotton needs 150-160°C, 10-12 seconds press, and 50-90 PSI.

Can I use an iron to apply DTF Heat Transfers?

We don’t recommend it; irons don’t distribute heat and pressure evenly, affecting transfer durability.

Can DTF Heat Transfers be applied to mugs and bottles?

No, but UV DTF Transfers can be applied to these surfaces.

What materials can DTF Heat Transfers be applied to?

They work on textiles like cotton, poly, canvas, leather, and denim. They also adhere to wood, MDF, and cardboard.

Why isn’t my DTF Heat Transfer sticking to my garment?

This is usually a pressure issue. Adjust pressure, or use a heat press pillow if the surface is uneven.

What are the care instructions for DTF transfers?

Use a cool wash (30-40°C), avoid tumble drying, and don’t iron the print. Wait 24-36 hours after pressing before washing.

How do I choose a heat press?

Look for even heat distribution, accurate temperature control, and even pressure. Digital settings and a large platen size (40x50cm) are ideal.

Can DTF Heat Transfers be applied to water- or wind-resistant clothing?

We recommend testing on water- or wind-resistant fabrics, as they may have coatings that interact with water-based inks.

Can DTF Transfers be applied to sublimated garments?

Yes, but dye migration may occur. Reduce the temperature to 120-130°C for sublimated synthetic fabrics.

What’s so great about DTF Heat Transfers?

DTF is soft to the touch, doesn’t peel or fade, and allows for vibrant, scalable designs without pre-treatment. It's durable, with no colour limits.
